@planetsorbit: ❛ you were right, she definitely wants us dead. ❜ ( kangdae & gunwoo / cowboy!au ; also highly specific plot thought of . kangwoo who work the field and notice maybe a woman gunwoo knows is essentially an older (like 40s) fujoshi . and she comes by quite often just to watch them occasionally from afar or say hi, and kangdae makes a joke after her 6th or 7th visit ??? idk ..... just think it would be funny if they jokingly catered to her a bit .. fanservice but they also catch a few butterflies .. )
gunwoo can't tell if kangdae had the sun in his eyes or just didn't hear gunwoo coming, but kangdae turns at the wrong time and barrels straight into him, knocking them both off-kilter. his hands scramble to grip at kangdae's forearm and the other rests at his waist, reorienting their balance and gunwoo shoots him an apologetic smile, gingerly patting away dirt and fly-aways once they're both steadied before withdrawing the unexpected touch. gunwoo just naturally assumes people can see him coming from a mile away, so he didn't think to announce himself — but they're not without an audience because he can feel mrs. williams' gaze on them, likely stopping to drop them off another pie. it's a courteous and neighborly thing to do, especially since she's well acquainted with their employer and privy to the severity of his illness. when he glances over at her, she's staring at them with a slackjawed expression and a blush on her cheeks. the first time she ogled them, gunwoo had explained it away by joking that mrs. williams' had it out for them — a less disconcerting reason for the intensity of her voyeuristic stares. gunwoo shakes his head, huffing an amused laugh. "she's actually harmless, although an odd duck. got empty nest syndrome, maybe, i know her kids are off at college right now. she likes it when i flirt with her husband," gunwoo informs him, a proud grin tugging at his lips, but then his brows knit in contemplation. "she liked it less when i flirted with her though, so it's definitely not a kinky 'couple looking for a third' thing." sharing the latter half of this is a little mortifying and vulnerable, but he feels it necessary to let kangdae know that he'd already tried and failed — lest kangdae get any crazy ideas. not that he seemed like the type. gunwoo, on the other hand, has trouble filtering his thoughts and is even less skilled at resisting his impulses. but he knows he doesn't want to go over to greet mrs. williams right now and bear the brunt of her teasing alone, rocking back and forth on his heels before leaning in to whisper into the shell of kangdae's ear, giggly and flirtatious. "don't pay it any mind. it's probably the highlight of her week," he murmurs, voice deep and simultaneously soft as gunwoo pulls back to study kangdae's face, gaze hooded as it flits over his features — trying to make sure he hadn't crossed a line by indulging in the silly spectacle. gunwoo puts a respectable amount of distance between them, clearing his throat before his head swivels over to where mrs. williams stands by the fence, a contrite expression on his face. he doesn't know how to explain that mrs. williams' interest in them, separate, is non-existent and she most likely is picturing one of them getting railed right now. so he doesn't. "i, uh, should probably go greet her and thank her for the pie." yet gunwoo lingers, a flush of pink on tan cheekbones, as if he's hoping kangdae will talk him out of it.
