Hi, I remember you mentioned that you took cpsc 301, how was it? Do you think it gave you useful and applicable cpsc tools and skills and was the course well executed? What was the course average? Also, I know that if you take cpsc 110 you cant take cpsc 301, is the opposite also the case? As I know that the second degree cpsc has cpsc 110 and was wondering about that.
The prof was a little disorganized but I felt like I’ve learned a lot in that course, it was a lot of work every week with labs and homework assignments that would take several hours to complete properly, but I think it was worth it. I think I must have spent around 10 hours a week working on the labs, assignments and extra questions in the textbook outside of class/lab time because I wanted to be able to solve the question perfectly. The prof and TAs were beyond helpful and put so much time and effort into answering our questions in person during labs, office hours and online. We only learned Python, that’s one of the easier languages to learn.
You can check out the class average by going to UBC PAIR.
If you go to the UBC Courses website you can see that there is no restriction to CPSC 110, even if you take CPSC 301, you can still take it.
