POV you're watching Sam the Riegel say something
laura bailey in the elder scrolls part one: death and taxes one shot
sam: rex'ahlia and rax'ildan
liam: rokay, raggy
Since nobody will talk about the Elder Scrolls three-shot, I will.
I think it's one the best mini materials CR has ever put out and it stands regardless of the advertisement they were making in it, like it could be told in Exandria and it wouldn't make a difference (well except maybe Slaughter wouldn't be able to grab a handful of nirn).
But the thing that makes it stand out in my head, it's how it showcases the importance of strong character premises even if they're a bit cliche.
Sam got the bumbling server, Laura has the grumpy barkeeper, Aabria got the tough bouncer, Michelle has the bubbly empathetic hostess, and Taliesin with his ill-humored bad cook.
It's all very simple, a character trait and a function, and yet it works. None of them have backstories except for Slaughter Grimm and it's mostly used for humor. All the charm of the characters comes to the surface while they're playing, it's all a very subtle 'yes, and'.
Or maybe I'm just too emotionally invested in these characters, your guess' as good as mine...
WAIT.
OSCAR GRIMM? LIKE SLAUGHTER GRIMM SON OF MASSACRE AND FELONY? HEAD MANAGER OF GRELNOK'S SKULL AND EX NECROMANTIC TORTURER? THROWER OF FLAMING SKULLS?
Alright, my dear loquaerryn aficionados need to watch the third episode of the elder scrolls three-shot. They have some hilarious back-and-forth that is worth watching despite the slight second-hand embarrassment from my boy Slaughter Grimm.
I have had this theory ever since I first watched that Sam's 'divorce partner' proposal for Calamity was always posed for quiddie to answer from their experience playing back in the elder scrolls games in 2021 (in which his character tries to flirt and fails miserably).
Like what is this?
Insanely enough also this about her rubbing berries on his body to mask his argonian stink:
I love how Slaughter Grimm is a great opportunity for everyone at the table to bully Sam
