"do you have some trauma about leaving people behind?" he asks, having created the trauma in a past life
Travis creating Chetney:
Hang on. Did these people seriously do 4 B&Es in the same day AND get hired for a fifth?
Veth’s parents were named Travis and Ashley and Imogen’s crush (?) was named Sam and I love it when they do this to each other.
I wonder if, when Ashton said “I would’ve done the same”, they meant it specifically in the past tense.
As in; the Nobodies grew up in a shitty situation, the line between self-preservation and selfishness can get blurry at times. They didn’t always bring out the best in each other.
Ashton gets it. He was the same.
But what we’ve seen from them now? They don’t only look out for themselves, or only for a small circle of people close to them. They care about strangers in shitty situations; about not pick-pocketing people who only have copper coins, about people who went missing while their landlord only cared about rent. They’re protective and caring; they spend their coin on other people without being asked, just to help and/or make them happy. They certainly don’t seem like they’d leave their team behind; they look after them, take hits for them. Which could very well change the meaning behind “I would’ve done the same”.
From; “What they did was fine”
To; “I understand why, but I’ve grown since then” (and I hope they did, too)
Imogen: Where did you...hit people before?
Pretty: In the head mostly.
