Please consider: Reporter Steve and Field Meteorologist Thor ☔️⚡️. Steve gets worried about the dangers Thor puts himself in while out in the field while Thor's bigger worry is keeping his God of Thunder identity hidden. One time, they get both stuck reporting outside together and the weather takes a turn. They head to a nearby storm shelter but Steve realizes they're "mysteriously" protected. Cue some Talking and confessing while they're waiting the storm out and maybe some first kisses 😘.

I can imagine Steve as a reporter being really interested in reporting on the God of Thunder, always trying to track him down and get the scoop on this alien protector’s origins. So when the truth comes out and it turns out that he’s been chasing after his crush in the meteorology office all this time, they share a bashful laugh as they try to dry off in the shelter.
Thor’s a little nervous about his secret being out. But as he tells Steve the whole story, about his banishment and his decision to stay on Earth as its protector, he finds himself relaxing more and more, enjoying the conversation. Outside of Jane, Darcy, and Selvig, it’s been hard to make connections on Earth, his secret usually meaning he has to keep people at arm’s length. But it’s nice, finally getting to talk to the cute reporter who’s been so doggedly on his trail all this time. Ears burning, he says he could tell Steve more about all this over dinner some time, Steve’s smile enough of an answer as they kiss, shy and unsure at first, but no less sweet.
In the months that follow, Steve maintains his coverage of the God of Thunder’s heroics, keeping the truth to himself while delivering just enough information on the Thunderer and Asgard to keep the minds of the public at ease and on the mysterious hero’s side. That’s not the only thing that have people at the office talking, though; everyone notices Steve’s soft smile, the fond look in his eyes whenever they cut to Thor's reports out in the field. It’s so nice that the two of them finally got their act together, everyone says whenever Thor picks up Steve from the office for another date. And granted, sometimes those dates get cut a little short when the God of Thunder is needed to fend off another cosmic threat, but Thor has his ways of making it up to Steve after ;)

who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter:Steve’s the werewolf, Scott’s the hunter. I mean, that’s just canon. I can’t mess with CapWolf. Even though Scott’s not reeeally the type to be a hunter. Still.
who’sthe mermaid and who’s the fisherman:Scott’s the mermaid, Steve’s the fisherman. I imagine Scott would be a mermaid in the vein of Ariel, like super curious about the surface worldand then one day (possibly pre-serum) Steve is out on his boat and that’s how they meet. (Which sounds so cute, I might need to write it, hahaha.)
who’s the witch and who’s the familiar: Steve’s the witch, Scott’s the familiar. I’m just spitballin’ here, though. But I kinda dig the idea of Steve being sort of a white witch with a familiar that sometimes takes the form of a giant ant and it scares the bejeezus out of people at first.
who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict: This feels like it could maybe go either way, but realistically? Scott’s the barista, Steve’s the coffee addict.
who’sthe professor and who’s the TA: This is tough since their fields of study are quite different, but Steve’s not really a slouch when it comes to sciencey things and he is a fast learner, soooo… I’ll go with Scott’s the professor and Steve’s the TA.
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss): Easy! Steve’s the knight, Scott’s the princess. I mean that just writes itself. Though considering I have a version of this sitting unfinished in my folders, maybe it doesn’t, heh.
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent:Another that could go either way, but at the moment I’d say, Steve’s the teacher and Scott’s the single parent.
who’s the writer and who’s the editor: I’m not sure about this one, but my gut says Steve’s the writer and Scott’s the editor.

And here’s SamScott, too, because Ihaven’t delved too deep into them yet and would like to (which also means I’mflying by the seat of my pants with these answers, so forgive me, heh):

who’s the witch and who’s the familiar:Both are closely associated with specific non-human creatures, so it couldbe either. Right now I’ll go with Scott’s the witch and Sam’s the familiar. Like, Scott’s a magic novice who’s super eager to experiment in ways he probably shouldn’t and though Sam does try to steer him in theright direction, sometimes it’s funny to just let it ride and suddenlythere’s a hole in the roof again. …that got away from me. Anyway!

who’s the professor and who’s the TA: Hm… Sam’s the professor, Scott’s the TA.
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss):Okay, well, Scotty’s a lover not a fighter, so my first instinct is that Sam’s the knight and Scott’s the prince. But! I could also see the reverseworking in like an outsmart-the-dragon-to-save-the-prince sort of thing and Scott’s usually looked down on by some other knights, but he managesto succeed where they failed and it wins Prince Sam over. And I am overthinking this again, lol.

This one particular thing you said in a reply, that Steve "then ran off to be Nomad amongst the stars or something. :D" I've had really similar thoughts!! Kind of like Bucky did in that really trippy comic where he fell in love with a Space Princess. Steve in Asgard, Steve in the Benatar, Steve wandering the cosmos, taking everything in, Steve in space, what a fantabulous concept.
I do like the idea of Steve, if he needs to move on from Cap, moving forward rather than back. GO TO SPACE, STEVE. WHAT COULD GO WRONG.

siken is undoubtedly one of my favorite poets and with his poetry it’s easy to pick and choose lines to fit whatever ‘ship in whatever fandom. but this, this line, god. (this whole poem is a doozy, tbh.) this line just fits steve & tony so much because the bond they have in whatever ‘verse (but 616 in particular, i feel, after all they’ve been through) is so strong it goes beyond just friendship or just love. they see each other for who they really are, and sometimes, even more than they see in themselves.

💗 - have you ever been in love?
i think so! i haven’t had a lot of experience in that department. but i guess if i have to think about it, i haven’t? haha! but i definitely think i have experienced a level of it, romantically.
but if you want to talk about other types of being in love, i have (i mean, i’m in love with my friends, with a culture, with my bed) and these are genuine. i mean, i associate love with being comfortable, relaxed, at ease, and having an overwhelming desire or urge to be with someone or something, and doing things for them. i could talk about this more but it might be a boring perspective haha, but yeah!
