The skiens are a little small,but I LOVE how the colors all look a little faded. Soft Gold is so pretty it hit a special part in my teenage soul. The crochet hook is a mystery to me. It looks like it is soft and rubbery but it is not. Still I would recommend the aluminum over the plastic. Especially for a beginner.
