William Nylander, Craig McMorris and Emma Maltais in the Oracle Red Bull Racing garage
group of people assembled specifically for me
A day for Jake - March 13th, 2022
i feel bad for the non-canadians who don't get to experience the wholesome chaos that is craig mcmorris' snowboarding commentary on cbc.
I will not lie, I watch the olympics solely for Craig McMorris’ commentary and watching Mark McMorris compete
Tessa Virtue on a memorable fall
Interview by Craig McMorris on Happy Every Day with Air Miles 5/7/20
Craig: I don't know if it's taboo to say, but do you remember any bad falls? Cause you've had such a long career, you’ve spent so much time, and I know nobody asks, and you don't want to talk about it, especially like, you- that's- you don't talk about that in figure skating, but like there, there had to have been some falls, and, and how do you get back up, and how do you - how do you try again, and do you put it in, like I mean, that's interesting to me.
Tessa: Yeah it's well, it's something we practice. We did practice failing. We would fall and get back up and get back into the program in case that ever happened to competition. The one fall that is just sticking out of my head at the moment, you know the lift I do where I stand on Scott's leg, and I balance, the Goose?
Craig: yeah
Tessa: Well for the first time I tried jumping off him, I used to jump and do a rotation and land, and he had pockets in his pants, and the heel of my blade caught on the pocket as I jumped off. So I sprung- and it’s on video somewhere- we have to get this, but I sprung off and then sort of was, I like did a slingshot move back to him, and then we both fell. But we just laughed. I mean, I wasn't that hurt or just was kind of funny, and then from then on he had his pockets sewn shut on all his training pants.
