Give me black hole fantasy !

Okay sooooo I recently got bit by a bug called crankbuckymurph and it's looking like the symptoms might be insanity. Luckily I've found that feverishly writing ideas down bullet point style seems to briefly alleviate the symptoms!

It takes place post-war, starting around the beginning of the Korean War. Crank & Bucky have a sort of bits-and-pieces relationship going on where they never see each other for longer than a weekend at a time. They're both working government jobs and living in separate towns, so there's a lot of tip toeing as a result.

After an incident at Bucky's workplace, Crank decides to cut things off. They barely see each other, and it's safer for both of them. (Cue huge crash out for both of them lmaooo)

I bet you're saying, wait, what about Murphy? What's that silly little guy up to then? I hope that's what you're thinking bc everyone should get more Murphypilled for my sake. Anyway the answer is: no one fucking knows!!! I'm going with the Luck of the Draw version of events, wherein Murphy was separated from the other guys in the stalag. So neither of them have actually seen Murphy for 7 years, and haven't heard from him in 3 years, after he stops writing them around '47 and disappears.

And that's where I'll leave it before I reveal anything too juicy. The title is from Black Hole Fantasy by the Crane Wives, which I used as inspiration for the general vibes.

• Crank fucks him. It's good for the night. It's awkward in the daylight. He still doesn't know what to say, how to act. He asks, even though it makes his stomach clench uneasily, if Bucky needs him to go with him. To Wisconsin. To the funeral. To get affairs in order. His presence is the only thing he can really offer; the thought of fumbling through evoking the proper emotions and sentiments, of watching the hole of Bucky's grief swallow him alive, enough to make him want to run. But the thought that Bucky might need him, might want him there anyway, is enough to make him ask. He'll do it.
