I'm looking at buying a Boss Digital Delay and I'm just wondering what the differences are between all of them? I was looking at a DD-2 because it's cheaper but I've seen a lot of people use the DD-7 or DD-3. Are they superior or something?

The Boss DD-2 shouldn’t be cheaper than a DD-3. The DD-2 is a little bit more rare and older. The DD-3 is kind of the weaksauce one. Then the DD-5, DD-6, DD-7, and DD-20 are all pretty usable. I like the DD-5 and DD-20. The main differences between the 3-7 are the modes they have. The DD-7 is probably the best non-DD-20 to get. I like the 5 because I’ve had a few and that one does the things I need.

If you’re in the market for one, I would probably get the 7 or DD-20. Sometimes you can get a used DD-20 for like $125. It’s happened to me twice now. So that’s always a good call.

What are your thoughts on the Digitech Screamin' Blues?

It's been ages since I played one last. I wasn't very impressed. I have a hard time finding digitech's dirt pedals to sound nice. Their older stuff has a few gems, but that series is pretty bad for the most part. In my opinion at least. Though, that could be somewhat different now.
