so uh, been having a bit of fun makin my own take for an AU - started as specifically centered on art (like drawing n such) but I've expanded (shifted?) the scope around creativity - also a lotta stuff's a WIP, working on stuff I got a solid idea on first n then expanding but also may get a better idea for stuff I worked on as I experiment w ideas
I'm gunna break down the ideas I already have, regardless of how solid I feel it is, in order roughly:

Kris
I gave them another hobby - witling. Also with that change, their knife is a pocket knife. Liable to change the armor again cuz idk how I feel about it. Also changing the sword to a rapier with an interchangeable core (the core being the middle of the blade)
Susie
Instead of an Axe its... actually not fully decided - the weapon/art its gunna be is spray painting and I'm undecided if the can's gunna become like, a spray gun, or if Susie's gunna use it like the healing power. Also gave a respirator cuz safety's important. Also, she's got a low ponytail - I didn't really illustrate that.
Ralsei
Color scheme is now monochrome brown-orange based on that flashback sequence from chapter 3 cuz from a natural dark world (will elaborate later) and still having that self discovery arc, but Susie's pushing it even more on the nose cuz of how lightners affect darkners in the AU
he's also not tied to an object but instead is a creation based on an amalgamation of the memories of imaginary friends basically?
Dark World changes
Dark worlds themselves can be made in two ways - naturally and by a lightner, and this is represented in how the place and its residents look and act - as well as how the darkners become a thing
Lightners can also add color to a darkner and give
Lightner-made
Similar to the OG, has a theme - but born from the creative vibes from the environment while also reflecting the lightner that made it to some extent. Slight tweak in how they're made from sharp object infused with will to a tool of creativity infused with will
Darkners from these worlds are based on an object that was made by a lightner. The more passion and creativity poored into their creation, the more powerful and colorful the darkner is. The color can end up fading over time as the lightners who cared about it lose interest. If no one cares about the darkner anymore (well, the object they're based on), it can fade to fully greyscale and cease to exist.
Natural
These take a long time to form, as specific conditions have to be met for a world to form. It is a combination of the area being in total darkness for a very long time and lightners basically imagining what may be inside, letting their imagination run wild and basically focusing that creative energy towards the area. They always are monochrome, the color may vary depending on the feeling the lightners generally had about the space the world occupies
In the AU, natural dark worlds are the closet one and the shelter one.
Darkners born from these worlds aren't tied to an object and are able to exist in any Dark World, as well as travel between them. Also it tends to only make like, 1-2
Ideas for Worlds
Castle Town
Initially basically empty and gets expanded - requires Susie and Kris to add the color tho
Card Craft Kingdom
This world is classroom crafts
Haven't had many ideas for the change in objects (as this world does get hella affected) been thinking for lancer and the king they're like, a play-dough project or so and the card-based fellas are like, from a project were each kid picks a card and makes a fella based on it
Cyber World
This world is digital - stuff like programs, 3D objects, and digitally drawn stuff that was made locally or so (so ms paint won't come to life, but a drawing made from it or someone's attempt to recreate it would)
I had the idea for queen that she's a teacher's PC that was being rebuilt but the teacher accidentally got a power supply too weak for the PC and with the internet being down, is unable to get a new one - and also gives an additional reason for the battery acid that she drinks as it's keeping her going.
Spamton, I've been thinking of some sort of virus - but unsure if it should be malicious or not - so far thinking of an email virus or some sort of like, failed computer companion - strugglin
TV World!
This world is mainly about acting and performance, but also about cooking and painting
For alt object ideas, I basically made Asriel a STEM nerd (and thats what he's in college for, not sure what exactly tho) and there's fried bread boards and funky robotics alongside the crafts Kris made - shadowguys being early witling attempts, Zappers being fried breadboards, pippins are lil dice w pipe cleaners glued on (and may have marker eyebrows or so) Lanino and Elnina are foam moon and cloud (also in darkner form, mirror comedy and tragedy mask atm - liable to change but I feel fits)
In the AU, Tenna's actually mainly in the kitchen - used to be watched there when baking and moved back to the living room for other crafts (or for relaxing) - he himself is now like, hella painted and a small wooden figurine on an antenna. Asriel and Kris had worked together to paint the shell and the figurine is from many occasions they had where Kris had made a lil wooden figurine and it got painted (by Asriel, Dess, or Neolle, tbf for painting I haven't a solid idea yet)
The left is how he looks be default basically - he uses magic and puts on a performance for the mini-game stuff, making himself more colorful and expressive to make sure the gang's having fun. Middle is for cooking game, and right is for painting. Also been thinking for when the third game aka crash out segment, he basically is quick swapping outfits or so, but unable to maintain the high colors w his state of mind
Sanctuaries
This world's mainly about singing, music, and writing
This one's one I haven't thought about a whole lot, mainly been thinking maybe Gerson's from either like, memories of him attached to his notes or like, maybe the hammer in his case was hand made (maybe by him?)
I think I explained what I kinda figured out so far but idk - feel free to ask about it through the straw page (and as I figure it out I'll try to add pages n such explaining stuff? I havent messed w strawpage stuff a lot)
