Created plurality is such a cool concept. Like, you can just make a guy and you can hang out? You can just decide "yo what if there was another guy" and then you get to just do that. People have made guides for how to just make guys and share your life with them.
We have some created aspects to our system but we didn't start that way, and honestly it's beautiful to think about people deciding to start that way. We didn't get here from the same method but we're plural now. You're plural now. We shake hands about it. And honestly as a system who has large amounts of trauma influencing their origin, I love that people out there are just deciding to be plural without needing to go through that shit to get there.
i'm a traumagenic system who's interested in having/creating endogenic headmates to fill certain roles- did you create your endogenic headmates on purpose, and if so how did you go about it? i've come up with ideas for headmates that i think would help us function before, but i don't really know how to go about making/helping them exist or what to expect. no worries if you don't actually have relevant experiences to my question. thank you in advance!
Yes!! We did create a few of our endogenic headmates on purpose! Im not sure if this will work for you but here are a few things that worked for us.
First,come up with an idea of what they will look like,how they would act,what they sound like,what they enjoy,and what role(s) they will fulfill. Kind of like making an oc! You can make this as detailed as you want,but keep in mind they may change over time. You can also just base them off of a character!
Then,talk to them! Treat them like they're present in headspace! Do things that they would like,dress in clothes they would like,etc. Treat and talk to them like they're already a part of your system. It may take some time,and alot of conscious effort on your part,but I've found that it really works for us!
Another method we've used is just thinking of a new headmate super hard,until they appear in headspace on their own!
As for what to expect during this process,you may get headaches or feel a bit more blurry than usual. After some time,your new headmate will start to feel more solid,and become more independent from you.
