#creating a deck

A life goal I'm chasing is to create my own Tarot deck for me to use. One I am completely in tune with.

Either a digital or physical card deck, art or traditional deck.

I have three ideas I'd like to reflect in them or in multiple separate decks.

1. The concept of Lawfully Chaotic alignment

2. A documentation of my own Astral/Spiritual experiences

3. Literally just recycling trash and trinkets into a deck

Number three is inspired by a tiktok that I cannot find now. I want to link it, if I do find it or If anyone knows what tiktok I'm talking about please repost with the link. [It is a tiktok of a guy collecting cardboard scraps for each suite of tarot and the major arcana and he kept them in a noodle box]

I don't have much to work with, I do have plenty of Index cards.. I think. Can I make my own Tarot deck? What does it take to do it? Do you have any advice, or tips? Please tag me in your answer, so I can be sure to see it

Of course you can make your own deck!

What does it take? Well, a lot of time. I have this post here where I have a few key points for creating a deck.

I guess the main thing you need to know before you start, is how you plan to use it. If you are just going to draw on index cards, and then use those as a deck, then you’re gold. But if you were wanting to do like, a collage kind of thing, and then scan them in and get professionally printed to sell? Well, then that would be a little more complicated. 

You can make the cards in whatever medium you want. You can draw, paint, do a collage, draw them digitally, make them out of construction paper, use embroidery, sculpt, photograph, use song lyrics, write poetry... whatever floats your boat. 

Go check out @indiedecks, it’s a whole blog of user created cards. There’s everything in there. Also check out that post I linked, because that has a more thorough answer. I just don’t like saying the same thing more than once.

I feel l’m not quite answering your question well enough, so don’t be afraid to come back and ask me more. Just create however it makes you happy.
