On Tuesday, we made books! Led by Preventive Conservation Librarian and book artist Jess Ortegon, a group of students and staff sewed a text block and folded a paper binding, based on the parchment binding of our favorite 15th century Italian herbal, LJS 419.

these are my best pieces and my creative making piece for photography. the inspiration for this shoot is BIll Brandt. these were edited on Photoshop and were takin in natural light. the creative making piece was a further development of my primary image and my edited piece

//Unit 10: Photography// -Sharon Mutch is a British photography-based artist who uses photography and the body to show the stories of individuals that she has met online. Her work commonly features photographic elements, body parts and repeating pattern that can often resemble cell types and biological structures, relating to my own theme. -Tatiana Parcero is also a photographic based artist, though she focuses on reconstructing the body using photographs, videos, experiences etc. Her work commonly features medical illustrations beneath sepia/monochromatic photographs, creating a layered effect that shows biological structure, cells etc. relating to my theme of nature/nurture. -I looked into these artists to give me inspiration for my creative making developments, where I produced a range of samples both digitally and by hand to reflect each artists' style. I felt that my Sharon Mutch responses reflected her style well, though were limited as to how interesting they could be. I did want to produce a piece like her repeated pattern ones, and started one, but didn't have time to finish this. My Tatiana Parcero developments, I felt, were much more successful, as they were aesthetically pleasing and more consistently successful; I will consider taking these further into the context of a final piece.

Unit 10 // Photography // Development // Research

I have collected a range of creative making images on pinterest to inspire developments for my shoot. I chose these images as the could be used to create development s which combine my images with the research I collected from each individual of what influenced their style.

Here are some creative making techniques that I have done in response to my development shoot for 1&2. I have selected similar photographs that I edited and using the selection tool I combined similar areas of the photographs and I joined them up and created different interesting outcomes. I used both white card and black card photograph edits. To develop these further I could use Photoshop to make the card coloured, I would use the eyedrop tool to select a colour from the photograph.
