After all these years with TBL, and particularly, with Ressler and Red, I can’t define their relationship even to myself.

But I’m completely certain that if they had been given a proper arc and screen time, these two could’ve sparked the screens like no other.

I’m coming for you

A while back, my dearest friend @yddraigwyllt introduced me to Dave Not Dave - Cold Blood song. I never had the time or motivation to do something—I didn’t wanna spoil the song by creating something dumb—so I just put it on hold. As it happens, the inspiration has struck me, and I just knew what scenes to use. I consider it as a kind of Xmas present to myself, ha :D

So, the edit. Can’t say it was an easy one technically—I learned the hard way some of the things shouldn’t be done, lol. But in the end, it was worth it. I loved how the scenes reflect the lyrics (although now I’d probably have chosen something different for a couple of gifs) and give a new perspective to Red (which TBL has forgotten for now).

I have a gunshot for your friends

This edit, hopefully, captures the nature of their relationship—not just stereotypical ‘cat-and-mouse’ game; it’s elusive, like a whiff of cologne, the hissing of a bullet put in the chest. Red embodies vice and viciousness whilst Ressler clutches at the edge of his shattering beliefs—the system keeps failing him, so what for to believe in it...?

A two-solid lies between them

Ah, this one. I thought it’d be fun to try fit some Russian songs into TBL, and look, I did it :D Again, it’s my attempt to play with ambiguity because to me Red and Ressler embody these two wolfs which keep clawing within every one of us, light and dark. You thought I just drool on them, didn’t ya?)) But, of course, this edit isn’t just about that—everyone can interpret it any way, even the slash-y way (that’s why I love the original word play in Russian which fits both men and women).

 I’m nothing when I breathe through you

It’s quite simple, only screencaps, but I loved every minute of making it. 1x9 and 1x10 are my favorite episodes of the entire show, and to me they’re everything. The depth, the ambiguity, the looks... What Reddington did, has left a chink in Ressler’s armor, and he never recovered from it. In some way, Ressler was Galatea until Red breathed life—literally—into him.

I’ll give you everything you’re afraid of

Ah, this one is one of my favs I did last year. I’m thankful to @randomprivateer for introducing me to this ship, and to @yddraigwyllt for inspiring me to do this set. What I love about this ship, is that Ressler and Henry have another kind of chemistry, a very obvious one. And one can play around with that any way they wish. @yddraigwyllt​ gave me the lyrics, and I knew I have to do something. It’s a very messy relationship, but who told the relationship shouldn’t be such?

Of course, I can’t leave without the bonus creations I’m very proud of :’P

Gangsta’s Paradise 

It’s a very unexpected edit because I didn’t think I could do something like this. I love John Wick franchise, and I always wanted some badass poster for TBL with Red and Ressler. I never thought I have the skill to do something similar. Turns out, I do, ha). And oh, the weaponry choice. It was fun to choose.

I know, someone might ask why I didn’t do Red as spades, but, imo, TBL’s Red isn’t as dark as spades. He’s more about money, luxury than darkness. And here I wanted to capture that Red. And since Ressler is in the same waters as Red is, I decided to leave him as diamonds, too.

What remains of love when we know we can destroy ourselves

Again, a minimalistic screencap edit, but I just can’t have enough of them staring at each other. They’re in love, your honor!
