My side blog

Hey guys, anybody remember my side blog @creatureprompts?

It’s a fun little blog where I make creature design prompts, but you can also submit prompts in the inbox that you came up with as well. I give credit to the people who submit prompts, so it’s best if you don’t have anonymous on when you submit one.

If you want to do any prompts, then you’ll be glad to hear that there’s not many rules on how you do the prompt. You can draw, write, or even do both as long as it fits the prompt. But if there’s something that you’ve already made and it just so happens to fit a prompt, then you can use that too!

Ironically, @creatureprompts hasn’t gotten a ton of attention despite being a prompt blog. The blog is nearing 100 prompts and it only has 20 followers and there’s only been 8 instances where people did a prompt. Half of them were from my friend @a-beepbop, and the other half were instances where I did prompts myself.

I want to do something special for prompt 100, but I don’t want it to fall on deaf ears. So it would make me pretty happy if you check it out and show it to other people.

This is done for @creatureprompts “ghost-like organism” prompt.

These little guys are distant relatives of comb jellies. Their outer layer is a network of cells connected by protein strands and covered in cilia, which lets them “swim” through the air not unlike how a fairy-fly gets around using its paddle shaped wings. Inside is a stomach with normal cell walls. They also have a skeleton composed of tighter groups of cells. Their tongue is a feeding organ lined with venomous stingers and sticky cilia that maneuver prey towards the stomach. They also have eyes that are light sensitive and can create very simple images. They can normally be found in dark, moist places like basements or abandoned buildings. Despite their frightening appearance, venom, and close proximity to humans, they are absolutely harmless and incredibly fragile. They reside in man-made structures because they could possibly be blown away by wind or torn apart in a storm. They only come outside on nights when there isn’t any wind or on Halloween, which just so happens to be the time when they reproduce. On a full stomach they are weighed down and unable to fly, so they only come out when hungry.

The purple one comes from a species that is fragile and feeds on mold.

The blue one is from a much tougher and more predatory species that mainly eats arthropods. It has been reported to eat mice though.

The white one is a member of a species that resembles the classic “sheet ghost”.
