I bought Cricket 19 to cope with the cricket void after the end of The Ashes. Sarah Taylor isn't a wicketkeeper in the game, and has no wicketkeeping ability. Hmm.
I thought I'd see if anyone had fixed this (you can download community created players)... there are two community created versions of Sarah Taylor. One has had her position switched to wicketkeeper, but she still has no wicketkeeping ability. The other is just the base version, but with worse batting ability.
Meanwhile there are sixty-five (65) Jos Buttlers, and while I kinda love the concept of 65 Jos Buttlers and will be making a team full of them, well, really, ARRRRRRGH.

The weather is clear, your team has won the toss and your captain has chosen to bat! The wicket is looking good for some heavy run scoring and ‘Cricket 19′ is looking like an all round(er) good time! In fact it’s being talked of as the realest cricket game ever released. Not convinced? No worry - we’ve got some of the big name reviews below that may swing the bat for you!
IGN - 8/10
“Cricket 19’s presentation and gameplay may feature more distracting niggles than an Australian slip cordon, but in spite of such grievances it’s still the closest to the real thing that a cricket game has ever been. Scenario mode is a welcome inclusion in terms of the almost limitless replayability it provides, and substantial improvements to the AI make games against the computer feel palpably exciting. With a bit more post-release polish Cricket 19 could really shine. Here’s hoping the developers use spit and not sandpaper.”

“Of course, where it really counts is at the crease, and here Cricket 19 shows its pedigree. From a gameplay perspective, it isn’t a huge step forwards from Ashes Cricket, but there’s been a handful of welcome enhancements. The most important are the vast changes to the game’s AI. Most sports sims live and die by the population of their online communities, due in part to abysmal skills of the CPU. Cricket 19 addresses this issue across the board, and it makes for some truly memorable matches, especially in Career mode. Bowlers now seem to analyse your performance, throwing balls that exploit a certain weakness. If you’re spamming aggressive swings at the boundary, a fielder will likely be waiting to catch you out the next time you do.”

“The gameplay isn’t too different to previous games, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but there are some noticeable changes. Edges seem to be more frequent and have more variety. You could get lucky and hit a few edges to the boundary rope, or you could get the other side of the coin where you edge the ball onto your stumps. Changes in pace are much more noticeable than before and makes bowlers more unpredictable to face than ever. That’s another area where Cricket 19 really comes into its own, the AI Bowling. They now bowl to a plan and do it effectively, some of the plans I’ve seen is them bowling a few bouncers in a row, some wide yorkers during the death overs, a few out swingers before one that shapes back in. Things you would often seen done in the real world have now been replicated in Cricket 19. It makes batting much more of a challenge, and less of a premeditated slog fest that can be seen in prior installments. All these minor additions really do add up to make one big improvement on what we saw in Ashes Cricket.”

Cricket 19 is heading to Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on May 28 and ahead of its release, developer Big Ant Studios has said that the game offers fans “deep customisation and flexibility,” when it comes to gameplay.
It means that cricket fans will have a lot more ways to play this time…
