Happy Mother’s Day! Here’s some of the moms so far in SOTM. We celebrate all mothers here, from the biological, to the adoptive, to the honorary.
Except shitty moms. They get banished to the Shitty Moms Club in cat hell
Featherears and Cricketsong???
(No art for this one, sorry)
Featherears
Deaf and proud
He didn’t mind having the -ears suffix
Was mentored by Bluestar
Loved wearing feathers on his ears.
Was an amazing tree climber and bird hunter
Father of Frostbite and Brindleface, the mother was a Kittypet named Frosty.
Was a nursery tom for the longest time.
Was shocked when he found out about Stormtail’s past and finally understood why Bluemoon hated their family.
Was ecstatic when Frostbite became Bluemoon’s apprentice but was terrified when Stormtail was Brindlepaw’s mentor.
He was closer with his mother.
He’s ace/aro
Cricketsong
She actually had a terrible singing voice
Older of the two
Was mentored by Rosetail
Prideful that she looked just like Stormtail.
She didn’t believe the stuff about Stormtail for the longest time.
Was closer to Brindleface than Frostbite.
Liked Snowflower better.
She was a Thistleclaw for deputy supporter and after that still opposed Bluestar.
She’s ace/aro.
[OLD STUFF]
Hey ! @daryltoh (Instagram) and @ryyyan-kiiing ‘s (link) Kickstarter for their new comic “Cricketsong” still has a week to go, go check it out !
(I thoroughly enjoyed their two previous collaborations, “Nico’s Fortune” and “The games we played”, so I really wish them good luck on this one. If you like horror comics, this should be right up your alley.)
Cricketsong is a brand new 44-page crime-thriller comic written by Ryan King aka @ryyyan-kiiing (Nico’s Fortune, The Games We Played, ToTully Aces) and Daryl Toh aka @daryltoh & @tohdraws (Outer God, The Misadventures of Tobias and Guy).
Abandoned by his friends at a bar across the Mexico border, the millennial Emile begins to wonder if hitching a ride back home with Barry, a shifty smuggler twice his age, was the right decision. From there the two set forth on a road trip through the Southern California desert and into a world of prosperity, unknown criminal horrors, and the marginally thin divide.
Taking inspiration from such troubling road trip genre-benders like Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s FROM DUSK TIL DAWN, the 80’s horror classic THE HITCHER, and hedonistic road narratives, like On the Road, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, and Into the Wild, CRICKETSONG promises to deliver a new take on horror crime thrillers. The release of CRICKETSONG marks the third horror comic collaboration from King and Toh; their previous two comics (the queer friendly horror title NICO’S FORTUNE and the suburban ghost story THE GAMES WE PLAYED) were both successfully funded via Kickstarter and released in the Fall of 2017.
