babysitting is really not part of her job description, but when an emergency arises, lydia can’t say no to keeping an eye on a child she’s visiting. his foster parents were called to another child’s school, something about fighting on the playground, and she’ll have to deal with the other kid herself once she’s brought home. but until then, her not-yet school aged foster brother is under lydia’s watchful eye. or...mostly watchful eye. she looks away for a second and notices the front door is wide open and immediately she runs out to see the little five year old sprinting down the street. “harris!” she yells, equal parts exasperated and concerned, before taking off after him. lydia turns a corner and finds the boy stopped, talking to a man on the street. she hurries over and overhears some dramatic diatribe containing the phrase “they don’t even have graham crackers, save me!” while he’s distracted, she scoops him into her arms, getting pelted with kicks in the process. with a huff and an apologetic smile at the stranger, she shakes her head. “i’m sorry about that. he’s still adjusting to his new foster home. but i promise you it’s a perfectly lovely place to live,” she says, now mostly addressing her assurances to harris, then looks up at the man again. “um, i’m lydia,” she offers because, well, it seems like the polite thing to do.
“ daddy , you look DISTRESSED. “ mj played innocent. “ maybe you should sit down before you pull something. “ the corners of her lips turned into a smirk. still playing innocent , though.
@criiedpower ( mateo )
“ MISS YUI , “ judith paused. “ would you like to dance ? “ the gala itself was making her overwhelmed - especially seeing so many faces from her hunter days. all she wanted now was to dance with the one person who made her feel at ease.

she didn’t know a single soul in the room, not personally, and there was something...strangely exhilarating about that. lydia wasn’t someone who needed a hand to hold and she faired just fine on her own, in fact she loved meeting new people, but she was happy to have mateo’s hand for the night. it wasn’t the sort of date she would have expected a man like him to invite her on, but that just meant there was a lot she didn’t know about him. it seemed he was full of surprises. “this is quite fancy,” she started by stating the obvious with a grin. “do you actually have a closet full of prada suits at home? because i’d love to see it.”
stalk rosamie & devani
stalk : my muse gets caught by your muse trailing behind them, watching them.
She’d just wanted to see her, the woman everyone spoke about, the one Cassius spoke about. Devani didn’t know anything about the woman other than her name. Rosamie. To her there was no one who was honest competition no matter who she was but that didn’t stop her from being curious about her. She was happier knowing who powerful people were so she’d want to know her even if she hadn’t the ties she did to Cassius.
But the one problem with other powerful people was that they weren’t easily followed. Devani wouldn’t have let someone trail her and it seemed Rosamie wasn’t going to let that happen either. She’d straightened when she turned to face her, a political smile coming to her face. “I figured it better to meet you now rather than later.” She had no excuse for following her but she didn’t feel the need to give one. “A pleasure to finally meet you.”
carry luis & mei!
carry : my muse carries your muse to their house, either drunk, or a weakened state, can specify.
Witches were annoying things half the time, sometimes they used energy of people nearby for their spells and of course Mei had gotten caught up in this. She was always getting in situations that she really shouldn’t have been in. It wasn’t uncommon for her, she was always in some kind of danger because of course. She was a dumb human and Luis had no reason to be around her but here he was carrying the half passed out woman to her place in Brooklyn. Another place he had no reason being.
Everything about him should have made her scream and run away but she still wanted to be near him. He was an asshole to her half the time and Mei still talked to him, still acted like he was just some friendly guy who wasn’t dangerous at all. Like he couldn’t hurt her without even trying. But even Luis knew he wouldn’t. He should, he spent more time killing humans than he did anything else. But with Mei it was different, he’d never gone out of his way to help a human before. Especially not one who got on his nerves like she did.
“Don’t fall asleep on me.” He muttered adjusting her in his arms, “You have to tell me which place is yours. I’ve never actually been here.” Just because he ended up following her sometimes didn’t mean he actually STALKED her. She’d been awake enough earlier to tell him where she lived but now the woman in his arms was slowly drifting off more. “Come on we’re almost there.” The annoyance he felt was burnt out by the concern he felt for her. Mei was always breakable but she never looked more so right now.
Getting her into the building he shook her awake again just enough to get her room and key. “You’re such a pain in the ass you know that? Who else almost faints on the sidewalk.” Luis pointedly ignored the fact that he wasn’t as annoyed as he wanted to be, worry was what was eating at him. “You’re lucky I was there. You don’t even know what could have happened to you.” She was the first human who could say that, one of the only people ever probably. Luis knew he wasn’t the nicest person, but with Mei it was different.
He felt strange being in her place without her actually knowing, understanding that he was there. It was like he was intruding in her space. She was soft and breakable and he was something entirely different. He didn’t belong in a place like this. Setting her down on her bed, he hoped it was hers, Luis stared for a few seconds. “God you’re so annoying.” he muttered before leaving.
