Seeing a post from @aetherial-boy about wheelchairs on the bus reminded me of one of the worst instances of ableism I've personally seen. I'm not visibly disabled so I generally make it through unscathed but this past winter when I was waiting for the bus, a wheelchair user had asked me to ask the bus driver to drive up to the corner so they could get on as the stop hadnt been cleared of the knee high snow. Me and my mom said we would and they wheeled over to the corner. The bus driver argued with me and refused to do it even after I pointed out that he wouldn't block the road. I was shaking when I sat down and we reported him, but that doesn't mean anything for the person who couldn't ride the bus. Bus stops need to be cleared of snow better, bus drivers need to accomadate disabled people better.
