I’m working on a new Art Book showcasing some of my favourite illustrations from the last few years and I’m looking for input on what cover to use.

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.
Over the last 12 months, I’ve been experimenting more and more with painting in acrylics and I’m surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed working with them - in no small part due to their versatility and ease of use. Some of those early ‘sketches’ which I was excited and encouraged by, look pretty rough now, by comparison. I’ll keep experimenting and pushing myself to see what the next 12 months brings.
I painted another dinosaur over the weekend, my favourite from childhood, the stegosaurus! I’m going to continue doing these at intervals in between comic projects as I’m really enjoying playing with paint and I like the idea of having a series.
Page done! Took a bit longer than expected, thought I’d lost it a few times, it went in different places than I imagined and if I were to do it again I’d try a whole bunch of other things, but I’m kind of happy where it ended up. This is the artist’s life, I guess... . . . . #comics #comicart #comicartist #illustrator #illustration #illustrationartists #illustratorsoninstagram #watercolor #wip #process #cristianroux #australiancomics #indiecomics #art #artist #artistsoninstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CC2KK3jB0Po/?igshid=10wp21r7296yf
It was late at night. I thought to myself, I really don’t draw enough dinosaurs. I started something. There’s an element of feeling guilty because in the back of my head there’s a voice that tells me I should be working on the Yakuza story but maybe this can be my ‘wind down’ art. I think I’m going to use acrylics... . . . . #wip #process #painting #acrylicpainting #dinosaur #art #artistsoninstagram #artist #artwork #illustration #illustrator #illustrationartists #traditionalart #cristianroux https://www.instagram.com/p/B_TM2T4hMTo/?igshid=lr8nv97lk84q
Page done! Having worked my way through the easy pages, this was the first of the action pages. I’m still debating whether it needs some white ink splatter...
