So he admitted it was a rescue. He was relieved he hadn’t seen Elnor get caught, too. He’s sure he’s out there, although, now that he thinks of it, the boy’s probably coming up with a plan to rescue him, as well. He didn’t listen to the old man when he told him not to follow him, he’s certainly not going to listen to Cris. “That’s good. The kid’s an excellent fighter but he’s not exactly suited for prison. Need to get to my stuff before he does something stupid and tries to break in here himself to get me out. Not that– he’s like a prodigy swordsman and martial artist but inexperienced at… nearly everything else.” Was he worried about him? Well, yes, he brought him here and if anything happened to him it would be his fault. “But I have a communication device to get in contact with him if we can get to it.” He explained.
“I’m flattered to be your first.” So he’s not subtle. Subtlety is overrated anyway. “Awakener…” He wasn’t going to pry. But there was something that was bugging him. He seemed awfully anxious to find that sword. “How can a sword cause trouble?” Well, he’s sure there are plenty of ways, but what’s special about this sword?
"Could be good. Could be bad," Vasher said, shrugging. "Either way, gotta find him. I don't really want two of you causing trouble on this world. All the better if he can defend himself, though. The guards in here really aren't the best fighters. Hired to be thugs and bullies towards those who have already had their weapons stripped away."
He walked faster, his gait turning into a small jog as he did so. Gotta get Nightblood back, no matter how annoying the dammed sword was. He knew where it would be, but shouts coming from down the hall only confirmed what he knew.
Vasher could smell blood in the air before they arrived, and he grumbled softly to himself as he stepped through the doorway. The sight, to any other man, would have been sickening, but Vasher hardly seemed to acknowledge the bodies. Two of them. The guards from before.
One man had been sliced clean apart, blood starting to pool into the tile and out the door. The other, less messy, had the massive sword sticking from his chest.
"Dammed thing made a mess," Vasher growled, yanking the sword from the body. "C'mon, we should get out of here before someone notices. Do you remember where the guards are posted?"
