As a habit, Jianyu attempted to learn the faces of guards if he was going to be around them for a while - not because of some concept of it being important to know the people that guarded your life, but because it was important to know who was skilled enough to take your life, and if they could be bought to surrender one as well. Not that he currently had anything against the Russian royal family, but knowledge was power. "I was looking for the Grand Duke, but it's nothing of importance if he's preoccupied with something else." A pause, then a tilt of his head. "At least, I assume you would know if he's otherwise engaged. Guards are, after all, a vital aid in times like these and can't do their jobs effectively without communication."
