Amare thought it was odd when he didn't see Dawit at the end of the day's battle. Maybe his brother was exhausted and went straight to his room to rest? Or maybe Amare had gone in too quickly, and Dawit was going to show up soon?

...Soon didn't come, though. Amare had to will himself to move from his spot and head to his room, instead of waiting around for... no one.

Amare made a quick bee-line casually strolled over to Dawit's room. He stood in front of the door for a few seconds, before tapping his knuckles against it.

"Dawit?" ...Nothing. He tried again.

"Daaaawit?" ...Still nothing. Amare thought that his little brother could be sleeping, so he tried not to make a sound as he opened the door and poked his head into the room.

"...Wendim?" The room was dark and the bed was empty and Amare was trying to stop himself from shaking.

He closed the door and looked down, then looked at his hands that were frantically tapping against his thighs. Amare tried to inhale and exhale as calm as he could, but it was shaky both ways because he was shaking because his brother wasn't around and he didn't know where he was and what kind of big brother doesn't know where his little brother is; but he's seen him practically all day so where could he be!?

Amare hangs around Dawit's door for a couple of minutes- almost an hour, before heading back to his own room. When he gets in, he immediately goes for his bags and takes out a large packet of matches and a worn book. The book is missing a few pages, and once Amare finds a quiet spot, it's going to be missing a few more.
