For your fic, "what keeps you here", since it is in an alternative 90s does that mean it possibly has Kate Bush and her albums?
I'm going to make this man listen to Never Be Mine.
I've been really enjoying your recent animations! I don't know much about making animations, would you be willing to share how you make yours?
Thank you very much, that means a lot since I'm definitely an amateur with it!
I don't have any animation software so I just draw the frames out individually in Clip Studio. I sketch out the starting frame, and if it's a complicated one like the umbreon one, I sketch out the last frame as well
Then I just sketch where the next frame's pose should go on a new layer, and so on until I meet the final frame
There's a lot of turning layers on and off to see if poses match up. I usually end up animating the sketch version also to make sure it works okay
For example I didn't end up liking the static tail on the second one here so I made it move in the final version
Once I'm happy with that I treat it like separate drawings, going over each frame with lineart and maybe colour
For the actual animating I use online gif makers, just uploading each frame individually and putting them together. There is probably a better way to do most of this
I really don't have a lot of animation experience, most of them are pretty basic so far, but I'd like to keep trying new things!
*Turns you into a shovel*
Can you at least enchant me with unbreaking and mending so I don't die
Hello! I was looking through your OCs and was curious about Daniel and his tragic backstory. I know he's part of the geordton story world, so feel free to share a bit about that as well.
Hello thank you for asking!
Content warning for severe injury discussion, and healed injury images if you go into his tag
Honestly he's a pretty old character that I probably need to do more with, but his backstory is done at least!
When Daniel was younger he was a skilled track athlete, breaking records for his age group, and was getting quite a lot of attention at the time. One day he was waiting at the station when someone shoved him onto the tracks just as a train was coming. He managed to roll partially out of the way but he still took quite a lot of damage, and he barely survived.
I think I never did decide if it was deliberate because of who he was, or happenstance. Maybe they never found in-universe
Afterwards Daniel's recovery took a long time, and he was getting even more attention than before, but now for unfortunate reasons. When he started becoming mobile again he applied for a far away university in order to be free of the attention hanging over him and return to normalcy
And that's how he ended up in Geordton, where he is making friends and slowly returning to a normal life
And for the Geordton story world, it's mostly judge a hodgepodge of different characters and their relationships in a small university town. I tend to just shove in any modern furry OC I make, so there's probably too many characters and I need to work on the balance a little eventually!
Or just make less characters. If that's possible
Hello! Sorry if someone already asked this, but I just wanted to ask if you had any favorite characters (yours or other's) and what you like about them?
Hello! Oh no this might be a dangerous question, I am obsessed with characters, how do I even narrow this down
My favourite personal character is definitely my fursona! I'm really proud of his design and he's the first fursona I've had that really feels like myself and not just a character
(Oops he is missing a thumb in this picture how did I never notice that before)
Some of my other personal OCs I like the best are
Lee, Winter, and Rook
The thing they all have in common is that I've spent ages working on them, they're very different but they all have stories (RP or otherwise) that resonate with me and I've spent a long time on
They're also all in very difficult relationships, I guess I just like drama
For other people's characters, first of all I love my friends' characters! I don't want to post their images without permission but @every-captain, @keifujimi, and @holmgren13 are amazing character designers and/or writers. They really bring their characters to life
And with fandom stuff, I could probably talk about them forever so I'll try to NOT do that
Some of my favourite fandom characters are Ryou Bakura from YuGiOh! Duel Monsters, Kino from Kino's Journey, Pearl from Steven Universe, and Youko Nakajima from The Twelve Kingdoms
I think all of them have really interesting development, either through backstories or going forward with the narrative. They change and grow a lot, I love characters that can be viewed completely differently at different points in their stories. They're also all VERY flawed, doing terrible things at points, struggling with their personal issues, while still being compelling people
Once again, I think I just enjoy the drama
I could literally talk about them forever so I will stop here but thank you for asking and giving me the opportunity to babble!
Hello! I had some general questions about RPing, as I only have RP experience from tabletop games and wanted to learn more. I know it probably varies RP to RP, but I will be delighted to hear anything you have to share.
For starters, how do you come up with the general plot of the RP, and does it usually have someone managing the plot? I know in your story with Chess you didn’t know how the story would end and your RP partner did, so I was wondering if it was kinda like GMs in ttrpgs? Followup question, how do you go about roleplaying? Do you just set the scene and act out your characters via improv, or do you plan and talk through how your character might act in a scene before settling on something. Your comic with Dippy for instance, how did the scenes you drew come about? Finally, more of a personal question, what are some of your favorite things about RPing? Thank you for your time, and thank you for sharing your RPs through your art!
Hello!
It does vary a bit, but for the plot bit usually either my friends or I will go 'I have an idea' and we work on the idea together. Something like 'and then x happens' 'I think y should z!' (anything goes here, we just spit out ideas) but also yes sometimes one person has more control over the story or world like a GM and the other gets kept in the dark a bit
It's mostly improv, especially when one person is 'GMing', but often we set up loose plot outlines a little/a lot in advance. For example we planned for Dippy to get a crush on Professor Jules, the attempted kiss was not scripted though. My RP partner also moved the setting into the car without asking me, probably to give Dippy room to make a move
My favourite part of RP is character interactions and worldbuilding, I love to develop people and worlds with my writing partners. I also like trying to play off scenes I wasn't expecting, collaboration makes writing so much more exciting since you don't always know what's going to happen
And of course I like having terrible things happen to my OCs, oops
Thank you for asking, and for looking at my art and nonsense, it really means a lot! Thanks for always being so nice
@crookedvoidbird They more or less give them up, their real names are secret, but it's more out of tradition than any functional reason
I don't know Winter's old name though, I'm lazy!
