Just discovered why making new ocs can hurt like a bitch haha...
So, for context; Reaper, the newest vessel whose name hadn't been revealed for backstory purposes. I just rediscovered specifically a variant of Just a Man (yeah I have found part of Epic: The Musical) and am on the verge of tears because part inspired me to mess with their (R's) backstory sooo...
In short; they are the only vessel with concentrated attunement in regards to soul. That said...
They can also sense when another being has hidden thoughts, feelings, memories, etc. all concentrated within theirs, alongside how to decipher what each means when a set of details is connected.
For example; in the au, post-skong, they can sense that, despite what we as players and/or outsiders would see, Hornet, deep within her soul, is practically pure. (For context; pure being in relation to how connected a bug is to their soul's energy which consists of what was mentioned. The purer the soul, the more synced the bug is to it.)
Another point to add; the soul of a bug does not always reflect their external appearance.
Back to Hornet as an example, while she has grown to basically full size, her soul would be physically percieved as a very young version of her.
All that said, Reaper does not know (as they haven't checked any for fear of souls being corrupted) that theirs is akin to hers. Except, all vessels' souls would appear as the children they were destined to be before the void. Or, rather, as how grown they would be if they were semi-mortal.
(the part that got my happy ass choked up was the repitition of 'forgive me' and its potential to be symbolic of both Hornet feeling super shitty for not saving her sister and Reaper's regret for reaping in general. down to where I thought up a quote for 'em; "I cry your tears")
