It’s funny how a bit of beard and a scowl can transform an adorable face into one that I like to think of as this particularly despicable Frey’s.

The younger brother of Ser Cleos, he is clearly just old enough to have wed and to be a knight, but has not yet acquired any known children.

“Robb was seated between Alyx Frey and Fair Walda, two of the more nubile Frey maidens.”
With her mother an exotic beauty (I suppose), Alyx was destined to be one of the most comely of the Frey maids. An interesting scenario to think about is the question of which Frey daughter Robb would have chosen to wed if the Frey marriage had gone through after all. With Braavosi blood and her brother a singer, this maiden would definitely have livened things up in Winterfell.

This particular fancast has both a regal, ladylike presence as well as an air of grit and determination on the battlefield. Perfect for the mailed lady of the Twins.

It’s hard to keep all the Frey girls and boys straight, but it’s the ones with nicknames who stand out a little more. For this fair maiden, I imagine the lovely Zooey Deschanel would fit the part.

“By his fifth wife, Lady Sarya of House Whent: no progeny.”
The line of House Whent ends with three known ladies: Wynafrei, Sarya and Minisa. The last descendants of this House appear to be the current generation of Tullys. With Sarya failing to have any children and dying rather quickly after her marriage, the curse of Harrenhal seems to reign over the Whents in full strength.

“ ‘Behind them both stands Symond, clinking coins. That one has bought and paid for several of my servants and two of my knights. One of his wife’s handmaids has found her way into the bed of my own fool.’ ”
No doubt Symond Frey’s wealth is in some way connected to his Braavosi wife - most likely he made a lot of coin from some sort of trade in the Free Cities, and Betharios might be a trader’s daughter.

“When she told him of Edmure’s concerns about Lady Roslin’s fertility, he chuckled. ‘Your lord brother need have no fear, Lady Catelyn. She’s small, I’ll grant you, and narrow in the hips, but her mother was the same, and Lady Bethany gave Lord Walder a child every year.’
‘How many lived past infancy?’ she asked bluntly.
‘Five.’ He ticked them off on fingers plump as sausages. ‘Ser Perwyn. Ser Benfrey. Maester Willamen, who took his vows last year and now serves Lord Hunter in the Vale. Olyvar, who squired for your son. And Lady Roslin, the youngest. Four boys to one girl. Lord Edmure will have more sons than he knows what to do with.’ ”
She’s the mother of Roslin, Perwyn and Olyvar, a late wife of the notoriously awful Walder Frey. She must have been married off to him when he was over sixty, with her probably forty years younger, and she died whilst she still had very young children. Like so many others, her story is tragedy writ small, though doubtless otherwise her life was quite comfortable.
