This crow nest is about half a mile from where we live. This crow is a friend of the family. He is a really big corvid who loves to fight. He harasses some of my neighbors and he is well known in the neighborhood. I have been looking for his nest for a while and I finally found it ( once found i felt stupid ). We won him over by giving him shiny things to take home. Some of his favorite things are marbles. We do not ever give them food but we cannot resist the small little shiny trinkets.

One thing that he did this year is he brought a whole murder down to our back door to show off his new freshly flying crow babies.

Anting is a behavior in which crows land on an anthill and allow ants to infest their feathers. The ants then spray formic acid on their feathers. This acid will act as an insecticide, fungicide, and bactericide that will rid the bird of all its disease-causing pathogens!

I just filled a small pouch in my purse with trinkets so I can start giving people I meet random trinkets (if my social anxiety will allow it lol)
