USATF 50 Mile National Championships at Cayuga Trails! Ran hard to finish 3rd OA and 2nd in the USA National Champs (a Canadian beat us all!). Signed up for the race on Wednesday, and made my way out to Ithaca, NY on Friday with my homie @llamarunner for Saturday’s race. The course was spectacular, circumnavigating two of Ithaca’s state parks, Robert H. Treman and Buttermilk Falls, which feature beautiful waterfalls, gorges, ravines, and old growth forests. This year’s course had somewhere between 8,000-9,000 feet of elevation, and we probably climbed 1,000+ stairs along the way which made things a little more interesting! The race went out fast, and there was a pack of four of us for the first 10 or so miles, but I lost the group when I took an unfortunate wrong turn, and after that I was on my own. I ended up passing one of the three runners later on, and made up a little time on the other two during the second 25-mile loop, but they held steady for strong finishes. Congrats to @iamsethmaraccio & @tyler_sigl who I shared the men’s podium with and to the top three ladies, @mrs.little_engine_that_could (setting a new CR!), @runadksk, & @gazzellie! And congrats to all the other runners in the marathon and 50-miler, I enjoyed sharing the trails with you and getting to cheer one another on during all the out & back sections! I always enjoy trying new races, traveling to new places, and meeting new friends - thank you Red Newt Racing for an awesome day! 📷 @llamarunner . #TimeToPlay #SalomonSquad #SalomonRunning #SuuntoRun #RunNomadic #RollBetterPlayBetter #KeepaCoolHead #TeamHeadsweats #CrowAthletics #CrowElite #TrailRunning (at Robert H.
