Birth of Darkness || crudelisx
From within crimson darkness, muffled voices...
“...ast-r...-re we certai- bou- this?”
“Of course I’m -ertai-! The -lood of the Her- kept it ali-! That pro-es it! Now, Let’s get on with i-, already!”
The inner sanctum of Hyrule Castle, 11:59 PM.
They’d been beaten back, they’d been humiliated, and their great leader had nearly met his end -- but the Yiga weren’t defeated. Not yet.
The great Calamity, their dark god, was an entity reborn time and time again, yes? Then-- it couldn’t be killed for good, it just couldn’t be! No...there had to be some way, some way to bring their figure of worship back to life, to bring the end of this pitiful, unworthy world! If Kohga had anything to say about it, this thing was far from over!
“Is the embryo holding?” The pudgy leader of the Yiga stood beneath the bulging, semiorganic sac clinging to the ceiling, tilting his head this way and that. “The great Calamity did a real number on it! We can’t let there be even a single crack unsealed!”
“The stasis field did its work, Master Kohga... Everything’s in place. All that’s left is...well, for you to add the final touch, and we’ll see if your hunch checks out.”
Kohga took a glass tank off his back, observing what lie within. A black, inky pool idly thrummed in its encasement, occasional odd bulges of bleary eyes rolling out of the depths. Like oil upon water, atop the blackness was a red pool of its own, a relatively-sized puddle of blood.
But not just anyone’s, oh no.
The Yiga Leader entered a focused stance, levitating up and into the air, approaching one of the round modules upon the embryo. With careful twists he forced it upon, idly tossing up and down the tank in his hand.
“...Went to all the trouble in the world for you...” He mumbles, opening the top. “Let’s see if you’re worth it.”
The sludge of Malice was carefully poured into the womblike organ, the opening quickly shutting itself once Kohga’s grip slackened. As he floated down to the floor, a change began to emerge in the skies through the window, high above the land, its crimson rays creeping ever-closer to the containment once occupied by the beast that would have ended the world.
“One last time, Master, before it’s too late...are we certain about this?”
“Of course I’m certain!” Kohga bellowed indignantly, stomping his foot. “The blood of the Hero kept it alive! That proves it! Now, let’s get on with it, already!”
The blood moon had begun to rise.
