2013 Cruise year in review! Was 2013 the best year for the cruise industry? No, it most defiantly was not! However everything happens for a reason and as we move forward the industry expands and grows with lessons learned from all the unfortunate escapades in the past. On to 2014 which is sure to be one of the most exciting years in the history of cruising !

Norwegian Epic the largest ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet. She is 153,000 tons and 1,080 feet long holding about 4,300 passengers. She is currently the fifth largest ship sailing the ocean. The Epic has a surprising back story, when she was announced around the end of 2007 there was a plan for her to have a sister ship code named F3, however rising cost put a stop to the building of the Epic. The decision was made to cancel the second ship to finish building the Epic and she was delivered in 210 to Norwegian Cruise Line. Hopefully one day we will see another Epic class ship as age has proven herself more successful than the new Breakaway Class.

Here she is the Norwegain Getaway Miami's newest cruise liner! Norwegian Cruise Lines newest milestone was achieved on Saturday November 2, 2013 when the Norwegian Getaway was floated out of Meyer Warft in Germany. Although there are still a few more months left until she will be ready to welcome passengers it is nice to see a new Cruise Liner getting ready to begin her life sailing the seas!
