                                       “that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be looked at,” he insists, reaching for her arm despite her protests. the cut across her bicep might not be much, but given their distance from any proper civilization, leaving it unchecked can potentially lead to an infection. and that is more than a pain in the arse to deal with.

"I really thought you were going to die."

                               “Bloody hell.” Killian couldn’t help but let out a laugh. Was it a supremely inopportune time to laugh? Yes. Was this a laughing matter? Amidst the bloody Quarter Quell, where they could be killed any minute? Probably not. Maybe he was delirious. Undoubtedly dehydrated. But still, he laughed. Pulling Emma close, he pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Thought I was going to die, too.”

Quiet moments were a commodity in Storybrooke, and Killian was all too aware of that fact. And he was never one to let those moments slip by without taking full advantage of them. Meaning, as soon as everyone was settled back in, bellies full from a celebratory dinner at Granny’s, the chatter all around them loud as stories were recounted for those that were left behind once again.

The arm he’d wrapped around Emma’s shoulders the moment their meals were finished pulled her closer, his lips pressing a quick kiss to her hairline just above her ear. “What do you say we get out of here, love? Surely your parents will understand one’s need for sleep,” he whispered, although sleep wasn’t exactly what was on his mind.

Once the excitement of their appearance through the portal had died down a bit, Killian made his way back over to Emma, resting his hand on her shoulder and squeezing gently. “...Quite the day we’ve had, aye?”

“Hey do you have a minute of your time?” Ruby just needed someone that wasn’t Granny or another quick fix for the night. She was having problems sleeping after finding a heart in a box. The waitress swallowed, as she placed her hands on the sheriff’s desk, clearing her voice a few times before looking down at the chipped red nails. “It’s um... Look Emma I know you’re not Dr. Hopper and I should go to him but that was a woman’s heart I found and I cant’ get that image out of my head!”
