Fan Pseudo-Servants (Atlas, Sinmara, Zao Gongen)
They all play different roles, but I think I need to update Kirschtaria’s sheet soon because that was an outdated and messy concept from 2021– though I already posted illustrations of him here before ^_^
Ophelia needed a knight, but she became one herself. Surtr’s affection for her made him gift her Laeveteinn, making her its new keeper, and Sinmara was summoned “within” her as a resulr.
Pepe-san’s design is my most recent work out of these three :) Their class betrays their manifestation as they essentially break their oath that this would be their final life. The patron god of Shugendo, Zao Gongen, is the avatar of three Shinto interpretation of Buddhist deities
I hope to keep making Crypter fanservants because I miss them every day. I don’t want Kirschtaria to be alone :’)
More fanservants to come in the future, this time more original ones!
Kirschtaria and Daybit in a way making themselves obstacles to test us whilst putting themselves in the way of Marisbury’s plan.
It’s like they had 3 fail safes. Kirschtaria’s ideal humanity, Daybit’s destruction of earth, and then Novum Chaldea passing their trials. Eugh augh.
You could say the other Lostbelts were trials too but not in the same way. With Daybit and Kirschtaria, Novum Chaldea was always proving themselves to them.
Each Crypter’s relationship to Chaldea and Ritsuka specifically is different but Daybit and Krisch have always been the geniuses. The goal posts. Them being silently in on each other’s plans and being our ultimate trials was such tasty writing my goddddd IM THINKING ABOUT THIS FOREVER ACTUALLY!
are any of the Crypters besties Kadoc students (or for pepe faculty?) and are any of their servants with them
(like is Surtr a jock with Ophelia as his friend or smth)
Gudako : I mean all the Crypters are here. Except Beryl. We made sure he stayed dead.
You ever think Mash could have been a Crypter?
Like, think about it. She's a member of Team A. If she had gotten Kablammied like the rest of them in the Prologue, then she'd probably be in the same boat as the rest of them regarding accepting the offer from the Foreign God.
I'm assuming, of course, that Ritsuka Fujimaru is still totally capable of handling the Singularities without Mash's presence. It's been well and truly established that Ritsuka is Built Different, I'm sure they'd be fine, they just need to pull off some other minor shenanigans when Mash does in canon.
What would Mash be like as a Crypter? The first question is if she'd even function as one, and I'm inclined to say yes. All you *really* need to be a Crypter is to be a Master candidate, and while Mash doesn't at first seem to qualify due to being a Demi-Servant... we've seen Servants be Masters before. Loads of times. Plus, she's an artificial human specifically designed with high-quality magic circuits, ones that are supposed to be compatible with Servants so that she could be a Demi-Servant. Give her some command seals and I honestly think she'd be fine as a Master.
As what'd she'd actually be like in the role of a Crypter... I think she'd be pretty desperate. She doesn't have a Sirius Light, which in some ways is a disadvantage compared to the others. And the reason she doesn't have one is because as a homunculus she really isn't built to last. She's scheduled to die of short lifespan very soon, and being put in cryosleep probably only delayed things a bit. If she wants to have any chance of survival she can't just survive the upcoming Lostbelt War, she needs to win. Something that would naturally be impeded by conflicts with her Lostbelt (who even KNOWS what it would be), her Servant (while everyone else in Team A seemed picky about what Servant they end up with, I can imagine Mash going in without any specific intentions, and just taking whatever she gets for good or ill), her own friendly and kind nature (which she canonically manages to maintain despite The Horrors) and Galahad probably throwing a fit.
To make matters worse there's her interactions with the other Crypters? Unlike with the rest of Team A, we've no indication of whether or not Mash could have survived the Singularities in Ritsuka's place instead of being a sidekick. I want to believe in her, but realistically she's probably in the same boat as everyone except Daybit where she had to be bailed out of the Foreign God's simulation by Wodime. Chances are the moment the group splits up to handle their own Lostbelts, everyone would immediately expect Mash to be the first one out, due to her personality and relative maturity compared to everyone else, and that could sour relationships with the others further. Depending on how long it takes for her to figure out her Lostbelt's deal she might be too busy to maintain positive relationships with the rest either. And then there's BERYL, and who KNOWS what he'd do in this situation regarding Mash.
I can imagine Chaldea rolling up to her Singularity and finding her completely exhausted in a position she really isn't suited for. She's supposed to be fighter, not a thinker, and she's throwing everything she can at her problems but her raw strength can only do so much. But at the same time, depending on her Servant and the premise of her Lostbelt, her character could be a really, REALLY interesting divergence from her canon character arc.
