Biography:
Born to Jared and Catherine King in Mansfield, Arkansas; Crystal’s upbringing held no candle to her namesake. Her mother, an excitable drifter, disappeared cold after Crystal’s second birthday, leaving her police officer father to care for her in the aftermath. Though their home was small, love was never in short supply, and she flourished under the attentive wing of her father, growing up an intensely curious and imaginative child. The King’s were happy.
Growing up, Crystal chased every sort of opportunity imaginable. Though her mastery in any one particular study was not sharp, she thoroughly enjoyed making attempts and often branched out of her comfort zone. She found a niche in being the class clown, frequently ending up in the principal’s office for disorderly behavior. After being recommended to the cheerleading squad to rectify her outbursts, Crystal took immediately to the sport and soon after began dating the quarterback, much to her father’s dismay. Popularity quickly went to her head.
An unfortunate motorcycle accident in her junior year ended her cheerleading career. Several broken bones in her left arm and shoulder lead to a handful of surgeries and a myriad of pain medications. Soon after, Crystal developed a serious addiction to valium, then heroin, followed suit by meth. She made the unfortunate decision to drop out of school prior to gradation as her addiction spiraled out of control.
Crystal has spent the last 5 years in and out of rehab, with two felony charges under her belt, as well as several stints in jails all over the state. To save her father from his enabling heart, she made the decision to leave Arkansas and settle down in the golden state streets of California. Now, she runs the underground world of despair; couch surfing in trap houses and sleeping on the sidewalks of local bars; dealing any drug or poison of her buyer’s fancy. Though life may seem dark, her heart still shines pure as crystal, and hopes one day ti claw her soul back to normality.
