🌞did you know some crystals will fade under direct sunlight ? 😱Check this tips from @lovebyluna 😱 while placing crystals in direct sunlight can be used to cleanse and charge stones (one of the few methods that does both!), many people don’t realize that not all stones are safe to use this way. ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 🚫 just like with water, it is important to research what stones are suitable for this method beforehand, so while our graphic lists a lot of the common ones to look out for, it’s always good to double check! ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 🚫 typically, any crystals of the quartz variety (i.e. amethyst, rose quartz, citrine, smoky quartz, etc.) will fade in direct sunlight. additionally, since many translucent and transparent crystals are sensitive to sunlight, we also recommend keeping any lighter colored stones out of the sun if you’re unsure. keep this in mind when placing crystals in your home too, and exercise caution when wearing crystal jewelry outside — especially to the beach or other areas with prolonged sun exposure. ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ OTHER INTERESTING TIDBITS…⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 💎 citrine will fade to form clear quartz if kept in the sun for longer than four hours. aquamarine and celestite will also fade from blue to white. ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 💎 clear quartz can only withstand sun for about two hours. while it won’t fade, any more than that can cause it to get brittle and crack or break. ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 💎 fluorite reacts heavily to sunlight and can become extremely hot (and dangerous) to the touch after 15 minutes of sun exposure ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 💎 other sun sensitive stones: apatite, ametrine, apophyllite, beryl, calcite, chrysoprase, auralite, prasiolite, sapphire, spirit quartz, super seven, turquoise, hiddenite ⁣⁠ ⁣⁠ 👉 have you accidentally faded any of your stones this way? did you that not all stones are safe to use in sunlight? tell us below in the comments! credit: lovebyluna Follow: @million_years_crystal #crystalsofinstagram #crystals #crystallove #crystalforhealing #crystalporn #crystalsofig #minerals #mineralspecimens #rocks #gemstones #chackras #quartz #million_years_crystal https://www.instagram.com/p/CHxXzm1BYVp/?igshid=a0sc4fo3o14k
