“ kissing burns calories you know. ”
Landon had been in the middle of a work-out when Liana had shown up. Of course, any and all concentration on the task at hand had flown out the window. She had a tendency of doing that to him a lot. It had been bad enough when all he did was watch on from afar, but ever since she’d helped him out, and decided that she wasn’t going to just forget about it afterwards, it had been especially hard. “You really gotta stop doing that. I gotta make sure I keep on top of things. Keep in shape.” He could tell that she didn’t seem too concerned. “I’m serious.” She still didn’t seem too bothered. “Kissing burns calories you know.” He had not seen that coming. He liked it, though. Setting down the weights in his hand, he turned his attention to Liana. “So that’s all you’re here for, eh?” He teased with a chuckle though stepped closer anyway. Not too close, though, he was all sweaty and felt gross. The last thing he wanted was for her to think the same. Leaning down, he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “I’ll go and shower. Guess I can skip one work-out.”
“I could kill you right now!”
It was like music to his ears, hearing her voice. It felt like it had been so long, even if it had only been a few days. He had gone out of town for a few days, just to catch a break. He needed it after everything had gone crazy. The ring had been shut down, he had no idea how he was going to make any money. His family were barely making ends meet as it was with him bringing in the cash. Everything was a wreck. He just... needed a break.
She was mad. He couldn’t blame her for being mad. He’d left his phone behind, so there had been no way of getting in contact with him. But it was what he needed. Hopefully she would understand that.... when he told her everything. He drew his lip between his teeth nervously as he turned to watch her enter the room. If he were being honest, he was pretty fearful for his life. Liana was small, but she was feisty. And she genuinely frightened him when she was upset.
“I can explain.” He squeaked out, taking a few steps back. It didn’t stop her from banging her hands against his chest, though. With a sigh, he took it. It wasn’t hard enough to cause any pain, but he could tell that he had hurt her. “I’m sorry.” He apologised, letting out a sad breath. Then there were tears. “I’m sorry...” He felt like a piece of shit, and he definitely didn’t deserve her to care like she did. He was nothing special. Why did she care so much? He wanted to apologise again, but instead Landon wrapped his arms around her and held her. He could explain everything later.
