I saw this on twitter and I thought, huh, they're right. What could it mean, indeed.

Then it hits me.

When Asa remembered how her mother died, her hair was short.

Wasn't she in the end year of elementary school/first year of middle school when the typhoon devil incident happened, though? He mother died in that incident, right?

But somehow she said her high school uniform was bought by her mother before she died?

And she dreamt about chasing down her mother in the alleyway, with her high school uniform and her current long hair.

It's odd.

How come the mother know which high school Asa will go to? Is it in her will or something, that Asa will go to the school of her choice? Is it because that HS used to be the HS the mother went to, so she wanted Asa to continue her legacy or smth? But, wasn't their house got completely destroyed by the typhoon? How come she has anything left to live on her own? How did she retrieve her high school uniform, shouldn't it be destroyed already? And what about the money. How did she get enough money to sustain herself. Did she manage to retrieve the mother's atm, bank account, and/or hanko or something? But how?? Also, didn't Asa had to live in an orphanage for awhile? How did she manage to earn an apartment and live alone there, when she didn't do any side hustle with good money (like a private devil hunter or smth)? Is the government's help for the devils' victims really that good? Or am I missing something from the manga.

Something just doesn't add up.

Chances are, there's a gap in Asa's memory, between the time in the orphanage and the time in high school. My theory is, Asa's mother was actually alive at that time. She returned to pick up Asa from the orphanage, and they lived together for awhile. But Asa's mother has completely changed. Maybe she had to earn money by becoming a prostitute; it'd explain why Asa is so disgusted by sex. Maybe her mother has changed and became more toxic, even abusive. But Asa endured it all out of her guilt for not being able to rescue her mother at that time. Plus, she's the only family she had left. Asa endured and endured,until something big happened, Asa was running down the alleyway, trying to catch her mom. Something even more traumatizing happened. After that, her memory got cut off and she returned to her everyday life, this time alone, with the old memory that she killed her mother in a Typhoon Devil incident. Heck, maybe the chickens she stepped in in her dreams are the representation of her mother's clients she has killed/stepped on (not saying her mother fucked with chickens, though. I'm saying like, yknow, since chickens are beloved by humans just like the chicken devil, maybe the depiction is not far off).

Idk. I just know that something doesn't add up. I'm just putting it out there, until the new chapter arrives.

Im so curious on how they’re gonna deal with Yoru, since she has almost the same regeneration contract as Makima.

Especially since the way Denji killed Makima was so extremely specific to their relation, since both of them viewed being eaten as an act of love, as Denji wanted to be one with Makima, and she spent the whole fight with Pochita wanting him to eat her. So i dont think that trick would work here even if they tried it.

And i don’t think Pochita is going to eat and erase her either, for the same reason why he didnt devour Makima and erase her from existance and why he only ate part of her before part 2.

Fully erasing Makima or Yoru would have extreme side effects. By erasing Makima, The Control Devil from existance, the concept of control would also be erased. So any control, no matter how small, how helpful,will disappear, it would lead to Chaos. So Pochita refuses to eat Makima for that reason, it would cause irreversible damage to the world

And i think something similar would happen if Yoru got erased. At a first glance, erasing The War Devil would be only beneficial, but due to the way devils work in CSM, they end up representing more than just their name, usually, devils like the four horsemen, that represent abstract concepts rather than tangible things, are more of an umbrella of many different things related to their fear. For example, the control devil doesnt represent just control, she represents rules, laws, the darkness devil represents the fear of the unknown, falling also represents falling into depression, etc.

So i believe that Yoru doesnt represent JUST war, but human conflicts in general, no matter how small, or how big. Both an argument between two friends with different views on a movie, and a war between two nations that leads to thousands of deaths are both represented by Yoru.

And if she were to be erased, it would create a world where large scale conflicts dont exist, but its possible disagreements, individuality and different opinions wont exist either. I think if Yoru got fully erased, Humans and Devils would never be able to disagree, to have sides ever again

Thats why Pochita didn’t eat all of Yoru before oart 2 started, he probably considered this would happen, so he decided to eat the nuclear bomb devil, and defeat the gun devil, the children that gave the war devil its power, and only ate enough of her to make war only exist in fiction, but not enough to fully erase her.

So, if they cant solve this problem by Denji eating her, or Pochita eating her, then WHAT is left????

My guess is that Asa will probably be the one to stop Yoru’s rampage one way or another. I dont think Asa can convince her to stop, Yoru does care about Asa, but she always places her own interests and wants above hers if need be. So if i had to guess, Asa will have to take full control of her body,either through sheer will and overpowering Yoru from inside, or maybe if the Fight Club, or the Yoru is the previous war devil theories are true, she will realize she’s the true war devil and be able to take control away from Yoru, or erase her from her brain.

Either way im very curious to see where its heading, and i curse Fujimoto for leaving us at a 2 week break(Just kidding please get your rest Fujimotor, we all love you and want you in good health.)
