Isabel was adopted from Puerto Rico at a young age by the Holberts before they were divorced so knows little to none about her birth family/culture. Unlike some she never really cared to know about them either. Her adoptive family didn’t mind not looking into either. They were determined to make her feel as she was their real daughter- hoping a child could help their slowly failing marriage. Despite the obvious physical traits she knows little to nothing about her culture and does not speak spanish. She, however is fluent in french and knows simple latin- as both were taught in her school.
When Isabel entered middle school her family sent her to an all girls private school. Their relationship was falling apart and they didn’t want their daughter around for a messy divorce. Custody was given to her mother- who changed both of their names back to her maiden name making them the Porters.
Isabel was never really a social child and chose to stay mostly to herself. She attended Washington State university for three years on scholarship before dropping out and moving to the east coast.
