Studio VI 2.5 II- Primary Target audience
When it comes to the target audience, This where things get complicated as we have our primary audience, the secondary audience This audience are the people from the industry application of the artefact) and the third target audience being that the artefact can be used to power/recharge phones,. cooking hardware etc.
I will be talking about the primary target which is the Citizens of the rural areas of the country and the third audience being the hikers, campers etc.
While some of these areas benefit from energy deregulation, many do not. In addition, utilities often cannot justify providing services to rural areas because of low profitability and the high cost of development. Utilities that do provide service to these areas often need to charge rural customers much higher rates. (Choice, 2019)
The above quote states one of the problems we are looking at for rural energy/electrical needs. Yes, there are services in place for electricity and power in the ritual areas but due to it being far away companies are too afraid to invest and building power plants. They can not justify the cost of providing the service while the return is quite low. Thus whatever source of power services they offer is high in prices for the citizens of the rural areas.
For many rural communities, there is no immediate prospect of being connected to the central electricity grid, and other commercial energy sources are often too expensive for poor people. However, many rural areas do have local access to other sources of energy, such as solar energy, water streams, wind and biomass. There are opportunities for these resources to be tapped using existing technologies and thereby release a range of useful services. ("x8054e", 2019)
According to the above quote getting connected to the electricity grid will not have immediate effects on the lives of the people in the rural areas wouldn't be able to afford power anyways. That said just cause someone wouldn't to have a use for it instantly doesnt mean that it won't affect their future development as individuals and communities.
This is where our artefacts come in providing sustainable and unable energy the rural areas where they don t have to take care of the artefact at a regular basis, This also opens up an opportunity for the government to get involved and offer support but setting up funds that people can apply for if they decided to obtain and maintain the artefact.
(ANON.2019)
Above are some of the current means for recharging devices in camps and hikes at the moment. Even though there are some technologies that utilise Solar Panel such as the GOAL ZERO NOMAD 2 etc, but they aren't efficient as they are expensive to buy and maintain and are heavy to carry around, where is our artefact will just need to be attached to the bag where the suns hits the most and it will don its thing and the hiker can also control and monitor the device instantly.
