Xavier: *nose peeking out* “Who pulled the bedding out of the end of my cup-nest?” Me: “That was me, Xavier baby. It’s time to get up.” Xavier: *yawning* “But I’m tiiiirrred. The sun is up!” Me: “But it’s time for your big debut!!” Xavier: *sticking head out of end of cup now* “My what?”
INTRODUCING.... Xavier!!!!
She is a female syrian shorthaired hamster. Her name helps remind me that gender is confusing but that that is ok. I am also hoping that she can be my savior - and that I can be hers - in the sense that she will make my life better than it would be without her, and that I will do the same for her. I got her less than 2 weeks before my trip to the emergency room which led to emergency surgery and an extended hospital stay so I am trying to make up for lost time in bonding with her now. I am learning all about her favorite foods (she like lettuce a lot, she is completely uninterested in cheese - or at least not in either swiss or gouda). Dried papaya bits are probably her favorite so far, which made it surprising to me that she was uninterested in apple peel. She is definitely a fan of nuts of any sort. I still need to test things like popcorn and tofu. We have so much to look forward to together.
