Big Blue Weevil found in the Sepik River area of Papua New Guinea.
Catasarcus weevil and a big raindrop. Halls Head, Perth
Gumnut or Eucalyptus weevil, Gonipterus sp., spotted on the side of the freeway south of Baldivis, Perth.
Apparently they pretend to be gum-nuts. Or possibly they're just afraid of heights and too scared to move.

There were several of these on the weed. Photographed in Baldivis, Perth. But what species?

From Wellard, Perth. Reminiscent of the Black Gum Tree Weevil, Scotasmus parvicornis?

A charming little fellow I saw in Uranquinty. No damn idea which one he is, which is a shame.

#79 - Eucalyptus Weevil Grub
These translucent grubs with their long trail of poo had me baffled for a few days - were they sawfly larvae? Some kind of Slug Caterpillar? Then, quite by chance, I discovered they were the grubs of a weevil I'd photographed elsewhere, Gonipterus scutellatus. They're something of a pest in Eucalyptus plantations, overseas.
