Be aware a long story follows. I will say, that if you're interested in commissioning a funny portrait of yourself or a loved one, be sure to follow the link in my profile. I'd be happy to make more people laugh. At #LTUE we sat next to Travis from @PioneerBook who was selling #FountainPens. Being curious artists, me and my @enuwey, had already tried fountain pens and wanted them. But, first we had to make profit before purchasing some. Travis was successfully selling the attendees of #LTUE on fountain pens, despite a large number of them, having never tried it. He was also selling the pens, already equipped with cartridge converters, so people could buy #NoodlersInk and self-refill. I would say about 80% of people who came up, walked away with a pen and ink bottle. I said it was incredible how he was converting people to fountain pens. He laughed and said, "Conversion is the proper term." This image of Travis as a great charismatic cult leader popped in my head at that moment. Converting people to fountain pens, and telling his followers to do the same, until the entire world was converted. I asked Travis, if he would mind me drawing him, as a religious leader, told him I'd send him a copy of the picture. He said "Okay, if you want to." I inked and finished the sketch that day, later when the vendor hall closed and I had a space in the #artistalley, I finished it with color. The next morning I showed him, his humorous portrait, and he couldn't contain his laughter. He said he definitely wanted a copy. The last day, he asked what he'd have to do keep the painting and I asked for a fountain pen, and he threw in some free ink. We both came away from the trade, very happy.
