People complaining about fake fans/new fans

when people complain about things like this, to me, it seems pretty petty. like, we're all fans of the same band, whether you are brand new to them (i mean hey, we were all newbies at one point, we weren't born knowing anybody's music unless your mom played it in the womb or something which would be weird) or are just pretending to like them to impress the guy you like or a group of people you wanna hang out with (doesn't matter to me, buy their music and merch, it's better for the band anyways, feel free to fake it and support them that's totally cool). when people think that other people are lesser than them just because they haven't been listening to a band as long is bullshit. it's like, if i read a book before you and i love the book, are you gonna be like "well you know what bitch, i read the book first so i like it more you're dumb boo" or are you gonna be like, "i know dude, isn't it so great? have you read the rest of them yet? i'll loan you them and then when you're done we can fangirl about the whole series together!"
