What was the digital reach of #ReTold?
#Retold - Live and Online event reached 57 people online who watched the live performance from 4 different countries
#ReTold – Cut and Paste 44 digital stories were created for YouTube by young people and viewed 2,861 times – That’s over 24 hours of total video views!
#ReTold – Make in Micro 133 Instagram posts, 52 Yappie posts and 52 Pheed post were created and seen by over 5,000 Instagram, Yappie and Pheed app users.
Tumblr This blog was visited by 509 visitors throughout the timespan of the project with 37% being returning visitors
#ReTold - Live and Online
So here is a quick overview of the ReTold project to date!
For the last year we have been undertaking Research and Development with young people around the use of digital technology and using everyday apps to respond the the story of Sen, a young refugee living in the UK.
Make In Mirco
This was our first project using Instagram, Pheed and Yappie to respond to themes in the characters life through images, short film and sound. We worked with a wide range of young people and got them to share their ideas creatively an online (to see their work hit the MakeinMicro tag below)
Cut & Paste
We then took these ideas and worked with 2 professional performers and a group of young people from Stanmore College to create a library of original short film, images and sounds that other young peopel could use to create digital storytelling films of Sen's life and share them online (to see this work hit the CutnPaste tag below)
#ReTold - Live and Online
Finally our current phase is we are back working with the professional performers and the young people from Stanmore College to create a short live performance inspired by the previous work and we will be streaming it it live from the view point of the characters on Saturday 21st March 2015, so you can watch the final performance from anywhere in the world! We have been working with young people from Red Cross to create more short video stories of Sen, a young refugee as part of our Cut & Paste project. Here are a few of them, but to check out all of them visit the #ReTold YouTube channel here
