Thinner, Stronger, Safer, Better

How many times have you had to take off your gloves to do something intricate like thread a bolt or hold a screw? It is at this very moment when hand injuries occur. Youngstown Glove is trying to erase this vulnerable moment in time. One of our goals, day in and day out, is to develop the thinnest and strongest gloves that offer the greatest dexterity. This is the equation that allows you to accomplish your task while keeping your hands safe.
In the past, gloves needed to be bulky in order to be either durable or safe. Today, there are still gloves on the market that are so bulky that you can hardly close your hand, let alone try to do anything that requires any type of dexterity. Youngstown is well on our way to changing this long-standing dogma through the inclusion of technical materials in our line of High Performance work gloves.
Materials continue to get stronger, more flexible and thinner. This allows us to design and bring to market gloves that are more durable and ever so closer to being able to perform the most intricate tasks without having to take your gloves off.
An example of using technical materials to offer more durability without creating additional bulk can be seen in our General Utility Plus lined with Kevlar®. In our field-test studies, we have seen that this glove outlasts a traditional, unlined glove by multiples. We have increased the overall cut-protection and durability of work gloves simply by adding an ultra-thin, 2mm layer of knitted Kevlar® material throughout the entire glove. If you are familiar with our General Utility lined with Kevlar®, then you know how strong and comfortable this glove is without adding much, if any, perceived bulk. The palm side offers a Level 3 Cut-Resistant rating according to the ANSI/ISEA 105 scale.
We continue to research, develop and find stronger and thinner materials that we can incorporate into our product line – all in an effort to make the best and safest work glove that allows you to wear your glove for the entire day and keep your hands protected. It’s really rewarding when we can team up with leading brands. DuPont, 3M, Grainger, Amazon, are all partners who make Youngstown Glove a stronger company. This summer we teamed up with another great brand and introduced a first-to-market item for the farming and agriculture markets.
Pioneer is the leading developer and supplier of plant genetics to farmers worldwide. And they've helped those farmers boost productivity, profitability and sustainability. As population continues to increase, Pioneer is on the cutting edge when it comes to feeding the world. Pioneer is a strong advocate of worker safety. Pioneer needed a high quality, cut resistant yet dexterous work glove to supply to their customers. In addition, they wanted the glove to feature vibration reduction properties. At the time, nothing like this existed in the marketplace. Pioneer contacted us and we co-created this glove for their customer base.
