my entries for @cutieclangen 's design contest.... i may have gone a little crazy with these but i have SO MUCH FUN designing characters haha :') i am SURE they have canon names and personalities already so you're free to ignore the notes ;P i just really wanted them to have a lot of personality. i'll put 'design notes' below that sort of explain what i was going for !!
Goldbear is laid back, flat, and generally hard to read. some cats mistake that for her being calm and easy to get along with, but that's not always the case. since she's been little, goldbear has been the type to say whatever comes to mind, and she never really developed a filter. she comes off as very harsh, deadpan, and judgmental - and she's good at figuring out cats' insecurities too. her brothers both think she's the funniest cat alive. she's always down for a good time, and rarely denies herself any fun or pleasure. this gets her in trouble sometimes. despite her flaws, she's a strong and bulky cat who you'd want on your side in a fight, and she's VERY loyal to her family and her clan.
Lightbranch has always been a class clown, but realized during his apprentice that nothing feels better than impressing others and being admired. he's sporty and fast, and has trouble focusing... he's also generally clumsy, unreliable, and not that impressive. but he's passionate and very entertaining. he'd really appreciate if cats would pay attention to him, and being loud and overzealous is usually the trick ! he's always the first to volunteer for a task - even if he never completes it. he's tall, lanky, and QUICK, and so slippery in battle that he rarely gets scratched. which is good, because he's so clumsy outside of a fight that he's always got a bruise or two. his siblings pick on him often, but they're also fiercely protective of him, and he'd die for them.
Redwing isn't as physically impressive as his two siblings, and often fades into the background in a crowd. but that's exactly what he wants - because when you're not noticed, you hear a LOT of juicy gossip. he's always been very curious about the inner lives of others - and very eager to discuss them behind closed doors. if you need to know the details of some drama, you can be sure his big ears picked it up. he's sly, and often dishonest, but he tends to behave this way more to entertain himself, rather than to hurt anyone. he's crafty, but has no great ambition or schemes beyond what he already is - messy. he loves his siblings very much - they're his star informants and best audience, after all!
i think theyre very close, and fiercely protective of one another. they tend to bring out the worst parts of each other, but they always have fun doing it!
i wanted to keep them all very distinct, while still looking like family. they all share a lighter underbelly, thick eyebrows, medium length fur, and spots incorporated throughout their markings - especially on their faces. lightbranch is the tallest, with the other two being more average height (goldbear is just built like a truck). gold and light have the same ear shapes, light's are just a bit longer. gold and red have the same rounder nose shape, while red and light share long, curling tails (light's is significantly longer to account for his preportions). i am realizing i missed gold's scar on her tail, but i think it would manifest as a tiny nick on the tip where the tail is thinner.
i hope you like them !!! sorry i characterized them all as weird flop individuals TT_TT if given the chance i will reinvent the worst people ever. but i hope you like them! i had a lot of fun designing them and their sprites were so fun to use as references. i'm excited to see who adopts these suckers in the comic!!
I imagine these three to be very tight-knit siblings, but CONSTANTLY getting under each other's fur. Gold- is usually the one getting playfully bullied by her much bigger brothers, but she can hold her own! Her impulsive nature gets her in trouble when she's at the end of her rope with them and finally snaps and says something hurtful that she knows will cut deep...
Red- has no patience for rules. He does what he wants when he wants to do it! However, when someone is being genuine with him, he gives it back in spades. He has a secret softie gentle side to him that typically only comes out in private, and almost never around his siblings.
Light- is the most responsible of the three when it comes time to stop goofing off, but he would definitely rather be goofing off. He's a bit of a space cadet when it comes to really locking in and paying attention, as he's easily distracted.
The three of them together get into TONS of trouble around camp! Red- is the chaos agent for Gold-'s impromptu plans of mischief, and Light- is the perfect instigator.
So I saw this going around and I wanted to give it a go and honestly it was really fun and challenging! Also please don’t mind Batkit looking older in this, I realized after I finished my section she did not look like her kitself XD

@splinterclan - I remember coming across one of your YouTube videos before I even knew of ClanGen or the comics and I adore and remember Moresnow’s design so vividly and was so excited to see it was a ClanGen comic!
@our-clangen - the inclusion of the gifts you gave your cats is so cool! I decided to give Batkit her own which is bat wings and ears. (Just pretend she an apprentice in this one, I just haven’t reached apprentice age in the comic yet)
