Maui Plant #10

マウイ植物シリーズはタイトル通り、マウイに旅行に行ったときにたくさん撮ってきた植物の写真をもとにデザインする小さなタペストリーシリーズ。

10番は『苔の触感を織る』

マウイでこの苔 (下写真) を見つけた時の 『思わず触ってしまった』 感覚。これが今回の重要点 。

パイル織は絨毯を織るときによく使われている技法ですが、モコモコ感が苔を表現するのによさそう。

毛羽立つため、あまり表面触っちゃいけないんだけど、どうしても織りながらその感触を確かめずにはいられない～。

モコモコ感とツブツブ感の楽しい作品になりました。
