My mum let me go through my grandad's stuff recently (he passed away before I was born) as he spent his life on ships from the late forties into the eighties when he retired. He also loved ship history and building model ships.

Unfortunately none of them are still in one piece which is devastating but I have photos of some of them, this is a model he made of the Cutty Sark. He had an extreme obsession with this ship in particular, much like myself and Terror. I'm only just getting into my ship obsession and I'm shifting my whole academic career to push me in the direction of the poles I like to think some piece of him lives on in me and I feel like he'd like to know his work is appreciated by fellow old ship lovers on this site haha.
