Just got hit by the realization of how terrifying the honey festival thing (assuming that's the honey queen dealio) could be if it isn't connected to pokey. Gonna do that thing where I just incorrectly summarize a whole nmt story with zero context lol haven't done that since last year:

So the hatchetfield honey festival rolls around, and the queen candidates are stoked.

They spend hours practicing their speeches, passing passive-agressive smiles to one another all the while.

(My brain is trying to combine Carrie and The Lottery hold up-)

Stuff happens, yadda ya, plot plot plot, betrayal is definitely a thing because

At the very end

The winner, who put so much effort into getting to the top

Is given the Honey Crown.

She puts it on her head

Honey is dumped on her

The crowd is confused, looks around for saboteur

Irl audience assumes this is the big moment

It isnt

Because little does our queen know that her crown is laced with the pheromones of the queen of hatchetfield's largest swarm

Moments later, the swarm comes rushing in

"Finally this show's back on the road, I'm in a hurry!!!" You hear someone angrily yell

Nick Lang says, "...and hatchetfield's largest, hungriest swarm of bees set ahead, to determine whether or not they truly approved of their newly-appointed queen..."

She looks terrified
