Blue eyes peered out over the city, watching the night life from the balcony of his apartment. Like most nights as of late, he couldn’t really sleep. The real world had turned so upside down, and only seemed to follow him in his dreams.

They wanted his blood to pay for what had been shed.
They wanted him to save them, and they wanted to destroy him all the same.
It was a feeling of complete heartbreak; of being torn between how he felt personally, and what it was that he should do. What was right? What did the world want?
Could he give it to them?
It was a concern that lingered on his mind constantly, and what led to many, many late nights sitting on the balcony in silence, overlooking the city as he listened to it. It often locked him in, keeping him unaware of the footsteps that neared.
