i wanted to do a lot more for the background and render all the trees+snow+clouds much better but i got tired and also felt that over detailing sometimes distracts from the main focal point of a piece. Please don't bully me for the lacklustre clouds.I like how Gamera's shell turned out, even if i used too much of my focus and energy rendering it.

This is meant to be set at sunrise in a snowy tundra somewhere. Gyaos has an aversion to bright sunlight, but enjoys the warmth. She's sunning her wings a bit before inevitably taking off to chase the night.

so. i forgot to post this for like 3 months, but!

At long last, a reference sheet and an actual cohesive explanation for the main Gyaos that appears in cyclogenesis! [please ignore that some of this is from that time I answered an ask about her lol]

Prototype Gyaos is, as the name suggests, a prototype for the genetically engineered species created by Atlantis. Her regenerative abilities are far more powerful than later versions, making her extremely difficult to kill. Additionally, she can fire a beam of high frequency noise out of her mouth that can cut through organic matter with ease.  Unlike the vast majority of her kind, Prototype Gyaos is somewhat timid and prefers to avoid unnecessary combat. She bumped into Gamera while both were off world and the two became an unlikely duo. As of now, she's found herself as something of a guardian for the planet she once fled from. She hasn’t chosen a name yet and doesnt seem to be open to suggestions... Extra notes!:  Gyaos is mostly neutral in terms of alignment and doesn’t usually cause mayhem, but she's also a massive living organism that needs to eat. She's capable of rapid evolution and, like the 'Hyper Gyaos' and 'Super Gyaos', can adapt to incredibly harsh environments, including the vacuum of space.  Upon reaching her subadult size, it became apparent to her creators that this Prototype had many of the traits they were looking for in their new species. As such, Gyaos was isolated and continuously experimented on by the Atlanteans for a long time, only escaping containment during Gamera's rampage. Gyaos fled and joined a swarm in the hopes of belonging. Unfortunately, this proved just as isolating because she's not really the same species as the rest of the Gyaos swarm.  This prolonged sense of alienation had a pretty heavy effect on her development and she spends most of her time figuring out who she wants to be and wondering if she even has a choice in the matter.   Also, she speaks a very rudimentary version of Atlantean, her vocabulary is limited and her pronunciation isn’t great, but it’s enough to communicate with the only other being that still remembers that language: Gamera.
